"Making the difference" is how we describe our new Racing Club.  We all have commitments in our busy lives and when these are taken care of we indulge in our passion, for horse-racing.

Come and join us – we are a unique mix of sociable people who appreciate the heady combination provided by racing thoroughbred horses - the excitement, the thrill, the adventure, the fun and friendship – the wow factor!

What else do we need – YOU!

Once upon a time a personable innkeeper described life as being like a pizza. He said: ‘Most of my slices are fully occupied running my business. I’m pleased to have these slices, but I need one that is for me!’

If you are looking for your pizza slice come and join our unique recipe, we know you have commitments too, but when these are taken care of we believe in a tasty base of sociable people with an enthusiasm, a passion for horse-racing. Our segment has a topping that is a mix of excitement, a real sense of fun, adventure and a spicy sprinkling of pure indulgence.

Our club began life in the wonderful rural hostelry that is The Carden Arms at Tilston.  Over a series of informal gatherings we chatted about trainers, we dreamed, we laughed, we discussed what we would enjoy and appreciate in a racing club, we registered as owners, sorted the company details – and here we are in 2009 with a core of members and we are racing!

One of our first decisions was to limit the club to 100 members; we felt this would create a real sense of belonging and involvement for everyone.  Pitching the annual membership at £1000 enables us to purchase or lease horses with some quality and offer a ‘no extras’ package.  The local racecourse that has brought us so much pleasure over the years is Bangor-on-Dee and we wanted to reflect this in our club name. 

Two relative newcomers to the training ranks are Evan Williams and Donald McCain; they are both more than happy to train a club horse for us.  We have owned racehorses, ridden racehorses, written about racehorses, admired racehorses, backed racehorses – winners and losers!

 The trainers appreciate our refreshing and realistic approach and we now have Proper Article in training with Williams and Foresight with McCain to represent the club on the racecourse.
